ATLANTA – Dec. 5, 2005 – The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG), the world’s largest user knowledgebase for Oracle applications users , today announced that the organization’s membership has re-elected eight and added two new members to the 2006 board of directors during the OAUG’s elections in November.
The two new board members include Joel Lauterbach and Mark Clark. Lauterbach is the senior program director for Best Buy Co., Inc., a retail company providing technology and entertainment products and services. He serves as a liaison between the business and IT units assisting with business systems implementations processes, re-engineering and change management. He has been a member of OAUG for one year through the Oracle Retail Users Group (ORUG) and has worked with Oracle software for the last 13 years. Lauterbach was the president of the Retek User Group and after Oracle’s acquisition of Retek, he became the chairman of the transition committee, which oversees the integration of the group into the OAUG.
Clark is a senior partner for O2Works LLC, a consulting firm that helps companies utilize Oracle Applications. Clark has been a member of OAUG since 1992 and was previously a member of the OAUG’s board of directors in 2003. He is also on the board of directors for the South Central Oracle Users Group and is the co-founder of the North Central Oracle Applications User Group.
“The election of new board members enables the OAUG to represent a more diverse group of Oracle Applications users,” said Steven Hughes, executive director of OAUG. “Having these new members join the OAUG’s board of directors enables us to integrate their fresh, new ideas with the experience of our veteran board members to further enhance the organization’s role in the applications community.”
